The 1st World Spiritist Congress took place from October 1 to 5, 1995, in Brasília, Brazil, marking a historic moment for the international Spiritist movement. This was the first global event promoted by the newly established International Spiritist Council (CEI), founded in 1992, with the purpose of uniting and strengthening the bonds between Spiritists from different countries.

The Brazilian Spiritist Federation (FEB) was responsible for organizing the congress, with the central theme being “The Spiritist Center – Fundamental Unit of the Spiritist Movement.”
Participation and Highlights
The congress attracted around 3,000 participants from various countries. Among the prominent speakers was Divaldo Pereira Franco, who delivered the opening conference. The event also featured artistic performances, thematic panels, and moments of fellowship, providing an enriching experience for all participants.
Legacy and Continuity
The success of the 1st World Spiritist Congress established a model for subsequent events, which began to be held every three years in different countries. The next congress took place in 1998, in Lisbon, Portugal.
